There is just over three weeks to go to this year’s Western Group PR Driving Day and the SMMT annual test day gave us a good opportunity to remind all the industry press offices we could find that the clock is ticking and there are still places to be booked for 25 June.

Many thanks to Jeremy Walton for taking the trouble to give our PR amigos a reminder. We both found that there was a great deal of willingness to attend. It’s a busy time of year in the PR calendar and I suspect that attention has been focussed elsewhere recently.

Porsche is keen to bring several cars, some reserved for track use, which ought to whet a few appetites. I’m not going to tell you what – our PR guests will just have to sign up and come along. We will be revising our key distribution and booking system this year, with thanks to Vauxhall as sponsors and id-pr for bringing their expertise along.

Relief from the stresses and strains of the day will be on hand, literally, courtesy of Mitsubishi. Massages will be available throughout the day – all guests will need is to make a charity donation.

From experience, it will be worth every penny. Having cycled 12 miles at the weekend, I could do with one right now.

There will be classic cars to drive with our our Kim handling this specialist area for manufacturers to bring along their historic models, bacon rolls when you arrive and another fine Castle Combe barbecue.

We shall be asking the weather gods to be kind too. So, if you haven’t booked a place, what are you waiting for?
