Thewesterngroup is donating £1,500 to charities after its annual general meeting.

Members met courtesy of Mitsubishi Motors at Cirencester and decided to top up the donation from PR visitors to the annual driving day with money from the group’s funds.

The total monies will be split between Women On the Move Against Cancer, Cornwall Air Ambulance and the Headfirst Brain Tumour Appeal at Velindre Hospital, Cardiff.

“Thewesterngroup of motoring writers was grateful for the support our PR friends showed at the annual driving day and we were delighted to top up this amount, as we have done in previous years,” said WGMW chairman Robin Roberts.

“The recipient charities were selected after careful discussion and reflect the breadth of the group’s reach and its membership from across South Wales and the south western part of England.”

The group extended its thanks to Mitsubishi Motors in the UK for again hosting the annual general meeting, where Robin Roberts was re-elected chairman; John Kendall remains vice-chairman; Steve Grant is secretary and John Kerswill continues as treasurer.

The group also agreed to confirm the annual driving day, #DD2017 will be on Wednesday 7 June 2017, once again based at Castle Combe.
