A Happy New Year to you and I hope you had a good Christmas break.

Even before the year was out came news of several press office changes, including a reorganisation at PSA Peugeot Citroën UK. This sees Andrew Didlick becoming Director, Communications, Events and Partnerships for the Peugeot, Citroën and DS brands. At the same time James Parfett, Communications Director at Citroën, since Marc Raven’s retirement just over a year ago, will be moving on to a new job.

Meanwhile over at Mitsubishi, Shona Smith has moved from the press office to become Dealer Marketing Manager and Alan McDonald joins the press office as Manager of Dealer PR. Congratulations to Andrew and Alan on their new appointments and we send our best wishes to James and Shona in their new roles, they will both be missed.

It doesn’t end there either as Mazda has also announced a shuffle round, with Owen Mildenhall joining the PR team from Auto Express and Alison Terry spending less time in the press office as she takes a developmental role in marketing and dealer PR. Lois Cavanagh joins the team full time too so congratulations to them all.

For Western Group members, New Year means its time to update your contact details and Honorary Secretary Liz Turner will be in touch soon to ask for any changes to your recent details. I know how much press offices appreciate being kept up to date on outlets and other changes so would urge you all to do so as soon as you hear from Liz.

Now that the holidays are behind us, we shall be pressing on with making arrangements for group events. One of the first is likely to be a visit to the RAC locally near Bristol. We are just working out dates at the moment with the end of February most likely, so will be contacting members as soon as we have some suitable dates to offer.
