Castle Combe Action Days are working in partnership with The Wessex Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre.

The Wessex Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Therapy Centre is a self-funding charity covering a large area of Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset offering long term ongoing therapies for people with MS their families and carers. As the 2018 charity partner for Castle Combe Action Days the charity will have a presence at each of the Action Day’s starting on Saturday 7 April 2018.

Rosie Eliot, the Therapy Centre Director, said, We are delighted to have been chosen as Charity Partner because we always have such a good day out at Castle Combe. Last year we were the chosen charity for Rallyday at Combe Combe Circuit and had a stand in the paddock area – it was a really exciting day with loads of people having a great time.

The Therapy Centre is a lifeline of support to hundreds of people living in the area suffering from MS who can receive weekly physiotherapy, counselling, massage therapy, reflexology etc and it runs yoga and pilates classes and hosts lunch clubs on a weekly basis. The Charity has just won a national award for Innovation in Care for the MS Buddy Scheme, where the therapy Centre recruits and trains volunteers to become companions in the home for people with MS who have become socially isolated because of their MS.

Karen Marshallsay from Castle Combe Circuit added, “We wanted to support a local charity that helps local people and the MS Therapy Centre cover such a wide area and does such a brilliant job. We have six Action Days in all and the charity will be here based at Quarry corner, running a charity raffle offering great prizes including a driving experience here on the circuit. They will also be on hand to give out free show guides and helpful information to visitors to the event. We are very pleased to have them on board for the year.”
